The Vice Chancellor of the Federal
University, Dutse, Professor Jibrilla Dahiru Amin, has rewarded 16
students of the institution with scholarship for their excellent
performances in the 2012/2013 academic session.
Speaking to newsmen in his office, Professor Amin said the students were selected from eight departments.
He said the award, which he instituted, was intended to encourage students to improve their academic performances.
Professor Amin urged other students to emulate their colleagues and also compete for the award. He said the young university is interested in producing students that are competitive.
The Vice Chancellor said that the university will soon start its Indigent Student Fund which is meant to assist students who are brilliant but cannot afford to pay their school fees due to their poor background.
